Husband AKA (Plumber) Saved Us Over $350 on DIY!

My Husband Rocks!

Murphy hit us with one thing after another this past week. “First opportunity”- (prefer opportunity to the word problem)….Our garbage disposal broke. We think the motor went because we had this horrible burning smell coming from under the sink.

Then, “second opportunity” the next morning we awoke to a  fresh geyser showering down along with some wet chunks of ceiling on the floor in our newly finished basement. After checking the soaked ceiling we noticed a small pin hole in the water line going to our refrigerator just above. It is amazing how much water can squirt out from such a tiny little hole!

Okay we all know things come in three’s….so that night “opportunity” number three hits….I went to turn on our gas fireplace to warm up the living room (17 degrees outside) and guess what…it wouldn’t come on.  I know huh!

So, my wonderful husband doesn’t panic…he just said calmly to me, why don’t you take a trip to the store and pick up a new disposal and water line and I’ll attempt to fix it all this weekend.

He installed a new garbage disposal in less than 1 hour! Saved us over $120

He installed a new copper water line – Another $120 saved!

Lastly…He fixed the Gas fireplace and saved us another $115 on a gas service call!

Total Saved=$355.00
